Movement & Rehab

Exercise-based physiotherapy, rehab and strength support to help you move with more confidence.

This is for women who want practical support with strength, mobility, return to exercise, confidence in movement or progressing rehab. Sessions can include movement assessment, tailored exercises, strength work, Pilates-informed rehab and hands-on treatment where useful.

What this is

What is Movement & Rehab?

Movement & Rehab is physiotherapy-led support for rebuilding strength, confidence and control in your body. It is useful if you want to return to exercise, progress after pain or injury, or feel more capable in everyday movement.

This is not just about being given a few exercises. We look at how your body moves, what feels difficult, what you want to get back to, and how to build a plan that is realistic for your life.

Common reasons

Common reasons women book

Return to exercise

Support getting back to running, gym work, Pilates, sport or regular movement after pregnancy, injury, pain or time away.

Building strength

Feeling weaker than you used to, less stable, or unsure how to build strength safely and consistently.

Rehab uncertainty

You have exercises, but you are not sure if they are right, how to do them properly, or when to progress.

Post-injury support

Rebuilding confidence after injury, pain, surgery, pregnancy, birth or a period of reduced activity.

Mobility and control

Working on stiffness, control, balance, movement quality and feeling more comfortable in daily tasks.

A realistic plan

Developing a movement programme that actually fits into your busy schedule as a mum without feeling overwhelmed.

What happens

What happens in your assessment

Understand

We start by discussing your activity history and what you ultimately want to achieve, whether that is a 5k run or pain-free gardening. This is your time to share what has been holding you back and what motivates you.

Assess

We then go through specific movements and exercises to see how your body responds to different levels of challenge. These gentle assessments help us identify exactly where you need more support and where you are already strong.

Progress

We finish by refining your personalised movement plan, ensuring every exercise feels manageable and effective for your home environment. You will leave with a clear roadmap and the confidence to progress at your own pace.

Follow-up appointments

Follow-up appointments can be used to progress your exercises, strength work, technique, confidence and return-to-activity plan.

Linked support

Your plan may connect with postnatal physiotherapy, pelvic health, MSK treatment, scar therapy or pregnancy physiotherapy, depending on what is relevant.

No pressure to continue

You can use this as a one-off assessment and come back later if needed. There is no pressure to book more than you need.

FAQs

Movement & Rehab FAQs

Do I need to be fit to book this?

Not at all. This service is for women who want to build strength, confidence and trust in their body, whatever their starting point. You might be returning after birth, pain, injury, surgery or a long break from exercise.

What happens in a Movement & Rehab appointment?

We’ll look at how you move, what feels difficult, and what you want to get back to. Your session may include strength work, Pilates-informed rehab, mobility, gym-based exercises, movement coaching or a plan to help you progress gradually.

Can this help if I still have some pain?

Pain does not always mean you need to stop moving completely. We can look at what feels safe, what needs adapting, and how to build movement back in without pushing too far too soon.

Do I need equipment at home?

Your plan can be built around what you actually have access to. That might be bodyweight exercises, simple home equipment, gym work, or exercises using the rehab space at the clinic. It should feel realistic for your life.

Can this help me return to running, Pilates or the gym?

It can. We can look at your strength, control, symptoms and confidence, then build a step-by-step plan towards the activity you want to return to. The aim is to help you progress without feeling rushed or unsure.
